10-day drama festival will honour Munshi Premchand

From July 30 to August 8, Mumbai will witness the Prem Utsav 2015, an annual theatre festival by The Ideal Drama and Entertainment Academy (IDEA).

What’s unique about this cultural event is that it will dramatise a staggering 135 stories of one of India’s greatest fictional writers of modern Hindi and Urdu literature, Munshi Premchand on his 135th birth anniversary!

Premchand’s socially-relevant stories like Gilli Danda, Eid Gaha, Kafan, Gareeb Ki Haaye, Shikwa Shikayat, Mandir Masjid, Chori, Qatil, Miss Padma among others will be staged. Directed and designed by theatre artiste Mujeeb Khan, this marathon of plays will be held at the Sathye College in Vile Parle.
