The renowned Urdu poet and short story writer Balraj Bakshi has been awarded by Uttar Pradesh Urdu Academy for his short stories collection in Urdu entitled ‘EIK BOOND ZINDAGI’. The short stories in this book have been widely acclaimed and appreciated by Urdu fiction critiques from all across the country. It is pertinent to add here that Balraj Bakshi is the first ever recipient of the prestigious UP Urdu Academy award of this category in the state of Jammu & Kashmir. Balraj Bakshi has another first to his credit. He happens to be the only recipient of Senior Fellowship Award in Urdu from Union Ministry of Culture, worth Rs.2.88 Lakh in 2007. Awards will be conferred on him at Lucknow in a function by UP Chief Minister.
